How to choose the right distro for you? - paia - 28.01.2019

The best site for distros is DistroWatch.com.

If you want to play with various distributions, use VirtualBox. This is the easiest way to try any distro and not to mess up your own system.

Recommended virtual machine settings for playing with any distro in VirtualBox:
  • 2 CPU core
  • 4 GB of memory
  • 50 GB of storage
  • max out video memory
  • if possible, use Bridged networking, you will be able to access the virtual machine with tools like putty
My tip:
Try Ubuntu first - there is plenty of guides (here too  Wink ), how to run various apps and how to configure everything.
